Description Few places in the world can compare with the drama of Iceland’s other worldly landscapes in winter.
On this workshop we will be taking in the Snefellsnes Peninsular in the west of Iceland as well as the north west of the country and the golden circle. An area that is packed with iconic locations… dramatic mountains and waterfalls, the famous black church, ice capped volcanoes, rock arches and fishing villages. At this time of year days are short but the low angle of the sun means the light can be golden all day long and the photography doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. At night, if conditions are right, we will be heading out in search of the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis.
Price rise - In order to operate legally, all photography tours in Iceland now need to be run in conjunction with a licensed Icelandic tour company including a driver and vehicle that is licensed to carry passengers. This improves our safety but also pushes the costs up and although I have reduced my profit margin by 50% to absorb as much of the extra costs as possible, this does unfortunately mean that I can no longer offer these trips at the same low price that I used to. I do hope that you will still join me in exploring and photographing this amazing country.

Anybody! An understanding of the basics will be useful but any tuition is tailored to the individual so this course is suitable for photographers of all levels - anyone looking to improve their landscape photography and enjoy a photography trip and a few laughs, with a small group of like-minded people.

On my workshops, every detail is taken care of from the transport, delicious food, comfortable private rooms to the stunning locations so you can relax and concentrate on enjoying the photography.

There are plenty of flights to Iceland with airlines including Iceland Air, British Airways and Easy Jet. I will be in touch with the recommend flights and the meeting details closer to the time.

The deposit is £250, payable on booking then I will email a final invoice due 6 weeks before the date of the workshop.

Yes. There will be an image review session via Zoom which is not only an opportunity to receive critique on your work but to see and discuss the photos that others have taken during the trip. I’ll record this session for anyone who can’t make it.

We will be staying at a variety of hotels as we move around the region.

No. All rooms are private double rooms with ensuite bathroom.

During the workshop all transport is provided, you just have to get yourself to Iceland and back.
