Incredible Iceland

Just a few weeks ago in November/December, I made my second visit to Iceland of 2023. As always I thoroughly enjoyed spending a few days in this amazing country with an almost as amazing group of photographers. But rather than boring you by recounting the whole story of the trip, I thought I’d give you a few statistics and more importantly (as I’m sure the majority of those of you reading are really here for the photos) some images (40 while we’re on the subject of numbers).

This trip to Iceland was my 6th visit in 6 years. I was there to run 2 workshops and 10 photographers joined me for my 11 & 12th workshops here in Iceland. We spent 12 days there during which time we stayed in 5 hotels, travelled 2400km (thanks Steve!) in our 4x4, 9 seat VW, we saw the aurora 3 times, visited more than 24 locations, made nearly that many impromptu roadside stops to catch the light and took several thousand photos between us. I only wish I’d added up how much was spent on beer!

In 4 weeks time, I’ll be returning for my 7th visit and I’m already counting the days. That trip is fully booked but if you would like to join me on one of my future Iceland trips please sign up to my newsletter.
